It is quite fitting that when EVE ends its in a fail cascade. CCP's financials are screwed. They're trying to squeeze the last little bit out hoping they can last until WoD and Dust take off and make them money. Anyone want to take bets on CCP surviving long enough to make any ROI on those titles?
I find it also ironic that between the Duke Nukem Forever release and this patch, Walking In Station was the longest current vaporware in gaming. Think about it.

Capital idea! Cheers.
There is no other sandbox like EVE, nor will there be. CCP have destroyed the perfect game, as only CCP could.
Somehow its fitting that the end of EvE should be CCP failcascading.

Yeah but now Eve will be a prime example, of why a Sandbox game is bad business.
No. Walking In Stations and World of Darkness will go down as people not learning the lessons from Duke Nukem Forever.

*just askin*
Were I one of those rich EVE players you refer to, why would I move in now? More than likely, CCP is operating at a loss and sitting on tens of millions of debt (most likely unsecured loans from their private equity investors). Why wouldn't I wait for 12-18 months until the cash runs out, offer the investors pennies on their originally loaned dollar and get the EVE IP for a song?
BTW, this is a textbook example of a company deciding to expand too fast. ...
This is my thinking as well. It doesn't matter if everyone quits or not; they're not going to make enough money off these features to keep going. Add to that CCP's track record on development, and they're not likely to even get WoD to market at all.
Can just see it now: "WoD Beta: walk around your bedroom, but you can't leave the room yet. There are these nice outfits that you can buy for microtransactions starting at $20."

What the hell are you doing CCP?
Koba
They are sitting it out over the weekend, and then announce everything is under control and the player community has readily accepted the new shop and direction, and all is happy hippo land.
I've got smart money on 1-2 more damage control blogs that don't say anything difinitive. A few more choice leaks/tweets and then the riot police will come out and start slapping on bans for looking at them funny.
Nah; look for the cluster to be seized on Friday as their cash flow drops and they can't pay the leases.

What everyone seems to be forgetting is that with the Icelandic Banking issues they don't have access to the capital markets that they previously had. Their business may be viable and a good risk for a loan. Doesn't mean there is any capital available for them to borrow.
I called the cash flow issue a couple hundred pages back in this thread. just didn't know the specifics.
